The University processes personal information in accordance with the Principle of Transparency, Legitimate Purpose, and Proportionality. This privacy notice informs the public on how we collect, use and disclose personal information of our data subjects.
Collection
The University collects personal information to enable us to administer application, enrolment information, financial information, information on academic progress and student support information. Moreover, the University collects personal information to facilitate Instruction, Administration, Research and Extension, and Production activities.
The University collects some information which is defined as Sensitive Personal Information under the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
The University will only use Sensitive Personal Information with your consent, except in limited, exceptional circumstances permitted by the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
Use
The University uses an individual’s personal information in a number of ways, according to the consent given by the individual at the point of collection, including:
- To carry out the University's functions and activities in Instruction, Administration, Research, and Extension, and Production;
- To provide information about the University's programs and facilities to students, employees, clients, and various stakeholders;
- To provide educational services and to determine and provide appropriate support services and facilities to students, employees, clients, and various stakeholders;
- To administer and manage processes such as admission, enrolment, scholarships, accommodation, billing, collection of fees and charges, examinations, and academic standing; and To administer and maintain information technology services and facilities for the University.
Disclosure
The University discloses personal information pursuant to a lawful purpose, and to authorized recipients of such data.
Protection Measures
Only authorized CMU personnel has access to your personal information, the exchange of which will be facilitated through email and hard copy. They will be stored in a database (for email & soft copy) and in a filing cabinet (for printed copy/hardcopy) after the purpose is acted upon.
Everyone who collects and manages personal information at Central Mindanao University must do so in a way that complies with the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR’s) of the Act and with the Principles of the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
